Finley bolts Horns for shot at NFL

Big 12 media days wrapped up today. What a lineup. Oklahoma, Texas, Baylor and Iowa State all spoke today. Let's begin with the Sooners. When asked about losing their last 4 BCS games, Bob Stoops was quick to point out that many teams would like to just play in 1 BCS game. I suppose that's a good point, but I'm not buying it. I'm betting the boys in Norman are feeling the pressure of not finishing well. Losses to Boise State and West Virginia especially had to hurt. OU is loaded again this year. If Sam Bradford can take another step toward becoming a top notch QB, they'll be on their way. I'm taking the Sooners to win the South.

Texas put too much pressure on Colt McCoy last year. He's not capable of carrying an offense. But when Limus Sweed went down, that's exactly what he felt the pressure to do. Mack mentioned that there was no soph. slump. He says Colt inherited a national championship offensive line as a freshman. Then last year played behind a bunch of freshman (3 in the starting lineup). That group should be better. But where are all the big plays going to come from? Sweed, Charles, and Finley are gone. Quan Cosby as the go to guy? Ouch.

Baylor introduced their new head coach. Art Briles seems to have it all together. Nice guy. Knows Texas recruiting inside and out. He built a winner in Houston quickly. That will be alot harder to do at Baylor in the Big 12 South. Could be a tough year for Briles' Bears. Denison's Vincent Rhodes made the trip to KC. He'll be a big part of the Baylor D-line. We'll hear from him later in the week on First News at 6 and 10.
