Rogers, five more released by Browns
The Cleveland Browns released defensive lineman Shaun Rogers and five other players on Wednesday.
The team also terminated the contracts of defensive lineman Kenyon Coleman, linebackers Eric Barton and David Bowens, offensive lineman John St. Clair and tight end Robert Royal.
Rogers recorded only 17 tackles and two sacks in 15 games during the 2010 season, his third with the Browns.
The 10-year veteran spent his first seven seasons in Detroit and has compiled 482 tackles and 37.5 sacks during his career.
Coleman totaled 68 tackles and 2.5 quarterback drops this past season and has registered 310 stops and 12.5 sacks during nine years in the league with the Raiders, Cowboys, Jets and Browns.
Barton notched 66 tackles in 2010 and he has racked up 840 stops and 20 sacks during a 12-year career with Oakland, the New York Jets and Cleveland.
Bowens registered 40 stops and 1/2 sack during the past season and has totaled 298 tackles and 38.5 sacks in 12 seasons with the Broncos, Packers, Redskins, Dolphins, Jets and Browns.
Royal made five catches for 56 yards and a touchdown in 2010 and has hauled in 128 passes for 1,271 yards and 14 scores during nine campaigns with the Redskins, Bills and Browns.
St. Clair appeared in 11 games, starting 10, last season and has played in 132 contests along the offensive lines of the Rams, Dolphins, Bears and Browns over his 11 seasons.
